NAIFA Board Amends NAIFA National Bylaws
At its January 2019 meeting, the NAIFA Board of Trustees adopted two administrative amendments to the new NAIFA National Bylaws. First, the Board added a new provision (Article X, Section 8), to acknowledge NAIFA’s ability to create a professional certification program and to establish a Certification Commission to oversee the program. NAIFA state chapter leaders approved this language for NAIFA’s former bylaws in summer 2018 and the Board’s amendment continues the certification program recognition in NAIFA’s new bylaws. Second, to better align with the new National calendar fiscal and leadership years, the Board adjusted the deadlines for the Governance Committee to announce Board candidates, to at least 60 days before an annual meeting, and the disclosure of floor candidate nominations, to at least 30 days before an annual meeting (Article XIV, Sections 4, 5). The new national bylaws authorize the NAIFA Board to adopt amendments by majority vote of the Board, provided timely notice of such amendments is sent to chapter Presidents (Article XVIII, Sections 3, 4). You can access the amended NAIFA Bylaws here.
NAIFA Board Accepts Financial Statements
NAIFA’s audited financial statements for the fiscal year ending August 31, 2018 have been accepted by the Board of Trustees, and are available on the NAIFA website here.
PAST DUE: Chapter Action Plans
State and local chapters were required to submit a 2019 Action Plan Report by Thursday, January 31. In January, we hosted a webinar that detailed the new chapter action plan report. If you missed the webinar, or would like to view the webinar again, please click here. Only 55 percent of state chapters and 48 percent of local chapters have filed the required 2019 Chapter Action Plan Report. Below is a list of chapters who HAVE completed the report:
District of Columbia
Pineywoods of East Texas
If your chapter is not on the above list, please submit your Chapter Action Plan TODAY! Below you will find links to the reports, as well as a few resources to get you started.
You will need to complete this spreadsheet and upload it in section three of the report: 2019 Program Calendar Template.
