Checkpoints for Conducting Compliant Marketing Events:

  • All formal, informal & educational Marketing events must be reported in the respective systems.
  • Ensure Marketing events are conducted only in the presentation language listed on the sales event.
  • Ensure only the product/plan types intended to be discussed are covered during the Marketing event presentation.
  • Ensure all marketing materials used and displayed at your event have an approved Material ID attached to the benefit information
  • Ensure the sign-in sheet clearly states that providing personal contact information is “OPTIONAL” and “NOT REQUIRED.”
  • Contact information provided for raffles or drawings may only be used for that purpose.
  • Scope of Appointment (SOA) forms are required for all one-on-one appointments, regardless of venue (e.g., home, telephone, etc.).
  • Agents may not market in restricted areas. Restricted areas generally include:
    • Exam rooms
    • Hospital patient rooms
    • Treatment areas where patients interact with a provider
    • Pharmacy counter areas where patients interact with pharmacy providers
  • Be sure signs are available to clearly identify your setup location.
  • Make sure you use approved and branded display materials, such as tablecloths, banners, flyers, etc.
